Community Access

To accommodate the high volume of traffic anticipated on the 4th of July, we encourage residents to inform their guests to expect delays and use the East and North gates for quicker access. Community Patrol will have extra staff on hand at all three gates to help move the flow of traffic through the gates as quickly as possible. All gates will have additional staff walking the line to assist guests with accessing the community.

• Main & East Gates: RFID lanes will be open to residents with RFID transponder. The other two lanes at these gates will be open for guests or residents.
• North Gate: Both lanes at North Gate will be for guests or residents.

Guest Information

Those inviting guests into the community are encouraged to utilize the ePass service. Members can log into their dwellingLIVE account online or through the mobile app and email their guest a pass. Guests can print the pass ahead of time, or the gate attendant can scan the pass on their smart phone. Guests will still need to provide their valid driver’s license along with the ePass. For guests who did not print the pass, the gate attendant will issue a parking pass which will need to displayed on the dashboard during their visit.

It is important to remind your guests that they must have a valid driver’s license in their possession when entering the community. Also, advise your guests to know your address, this will help the Community Patrol verify their information quicker at the gates.

Service Provider Access

Service providers are not permitted into the community on 4th of July. Examples of service providers include contractors, delivery drivers (like DoorDash or pizza delivery), furniture deliveries, HVAC services, home cleaning services, landscapers/pool services, plumbing services, ride share apps (like Uber or Lyft). Please note, this does not apply to in-home health care services. ​​​​​

If you have a service provider needing access to the community, please add them as a temporary guest for the day.
 

BOATING REMINDERS

Boat Registration

Unregistered boats are not permitted on the lake. Marine Patrol will be verifying boats for current registration at all launch ramps. Unregistered boats are subject to a $500 citation. Those who need to have a safety inspection completed on their boats in order to register them should call Marine Patrol at 951.244.6841 x415 to schedule an appointment.

• Skippers Island
  Skippers Island and its dock are closed Friday, June 28, through Friday, July 5.
• Gas Dock
  The gas dock will have intermittent closures throughout the day on July 4 and will close for the night at 4 p.m.
• Boating on July 4
  On July 4, no riders may be towed from any vessel on the main lake after 12 p.m. Boaters ages 60 and younger are reminded they must have a California Boater’s Card.

Boating During Fireworks

Boats must maintain a safe distance from Skippers Island during the fireworks. If you are boating, please pay attention to the temporary red and white buoys with lights around Skippers Island. City Code Enforcement, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and Marine Patrol will hold boats 350 feet from the island. The firework show will not begin unless all boats are within a safe distance from Skippers Island and the on-site Fire Chief announces “All Clear.” Please note the 350-foot perimeter around Skippers Island will be enforced up to 45 minutes following the end of the show.

Facility Hours

Park & Beach Hours

Park and beach hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4 only. Access is first-come, first-served basis. Community Patrol will be actively enforcing park hours. Entry or leaving personal property before the specified opening time is not allowed. Any property left prior will be collected by the Canyon Lake POA and can be retrieved 24 hours a day at Bluebird Hall through the following Monday, July 8. Any property not claimed before July 8 will be considered abandoned and disposed of. Please note, the Canyon Lake POA is not liable for the loss or damage of these items.

Pool Hours

On July 4, open swim hours at the pool are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The pool will close promptly at 7 p.m. for the fireworks show, no one will be allowed in the pool deck area.

Although the pool will be closed, Sunset Beach and the walkway around the pool are great places to watch the fireworks. DJ Mike Shroyer will be playing music from the pool patio starting at 8 p.m. and leading up to the fireworks show.

The pool will reopen on Friday, July 5, at 8 a.m.

Canyon Lake POA Office

The Canyon Lake POA Office (including Member Services) is closed on Thursday, July 4. Regular hours will resume on Friday, July 5. 

Responsibilities

Homeowners are reminded that they are responsible for any actions, violations, or citations incurred by their family, guests, or lessees. Members should always accompany their guests throughout the community. Should a guest violate any rules associated with GR.2.0 (Guest Usage of Common Areas/Amenities) in the member’s absence, an additional fine will be incurred. This fine increases on major summer holidays such as 4th of July. Homeowners are responsible to know the Canyon Lake POA's Rules & Regulations and are asked to be respectful of those in authority who are trying to enforce those rules and safety for everyone.

Important Rules Reminder

General Rules, 2.0: Guest Usage of Common Areas/Amenities
Members are encouraged to accompany their guests throughout the community at all times. Should a guest violate any of the below mentioned existing CLPOA rules in the member's absence, an additional fine will be incurred. This fine will increase on major summer holidays / holiday weekends (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day). Rules included in this additional assessment will be:

• GR.2.18c - Noxious and / or offensive conduct by residents and / or their guests

General Rules, 4.1a: Special Event Area Access
All personal mobility devices — e.g., bicycles, scooters, E-bikes, skateboards, etc. — may not be ridden in or upon at special events located on common area, in parking lots, or on roadways where a special event is taking place. In addition, members riding personal use devices to the event must walk the device in and around the event area, parking lot, or roadway and park the device in the designated area at the special event.

Fireworks Are Illegal

Remember the following reminders on fireworks, provided by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department:

Illegal

All fireworks, including sparklers, are illegal in Riverside County. All fireworks are illegal because they cause serious injuries and very often, cause fires. Riverside County has very diverse terrain. The vegetation is very dry where fireworks can easily start a brush fire. Individuals who cause fires by using illegal fireworks will be held responsible for all suppression costs. These costs can run into the millions of dollars.
